2016-02-12 03:17:01 -0800 commented answer how to add custom feature to opendaylight integration version?

hi @grmontpetit now i am able to compile the cup project and execute successfully. is it possible to integrate cup project in to any of the integration ODL project through feature:repo-add command? will it work? what version of ODL integration project we must use to integrate our cup project?

2016-02-11 04:30:45 -0800 commented answer how to use add-repo ?

hi guru., i faced the same issue.. just check your cici projects features.xml has the versions of the features in sync with the ODL-lithium's feature versions.. the version mismatches will cause the probelm even though we give the correct repo-add command..

2016-02-08 22:37:34 -0800 answered a question How to write api without exposing as rest service

HI Vishal,

I saw your project mdsal util project. i i found a similar project in github called cup-Example, i tried to compile and run cup example https://github.com/sniggel/odl-mdsal-... created by Grmontpetit.

I got a doubt in it.

I am able to mvn install the project successfully. When I launch the karaf and in the list I am able to see the odl-cup not pre installed, but present in the feature:list. So I tried to install it, it is throwing errors like shown in screen shot below.(i followed the step that Grmontpetit given in the README.md section in the above github URL) Cup Error

Then I tried to compile the controller project separately (also the karaf, config projects in it separately-as said in readme.md) but nothing helps. Please help me to solve this problem. please find the screen shot for the errors..

since your mdsal util project is somewhat similar to that can you please help me to overcome this problem?

2015-10-17 07:04:02 -0800 marked best answer what are the API's available to user when integration software is launched?

HI,

My current understanding about the various API's in ODL are:

which ever URL starts with /controller/.. i assume this is AD-sal API. Sample AD_SAL API: http://(localhost):8080/controller/nb/v2/topology/default

which ever URL starts with /Restconf/.. i assume this is MD-sal API. Sample MD_SAL API: http://(localhost):8080/restconf/operational /.../

Doubt 1: Is my understanding correct?

when i am launching the Controller version of the ODL software, i am able to use both the AD-sal API's and restconf API's.

But when i launch the integration version of the ODL software, i am able to use only the RESTCONF API's( starting with http://(localhost):8181/restconf/operational/../). and not able to use the Ad-SAL API's (http://(localhost):8181/controller/nb/v2/topology/default).

Doubt 2: what are the API's types available to the user when the Integration version of ODL is launched?

Thanks Bala

  2. when to use the integration version ?
  3. Can we add the new features to the controller version software like we do with the integration software?

HI, I am seeing two different REST call URL's in ODL. 1. http://localhost:8080/controller/. . - This URL i got when i was going through the ODL codes(Stable Helium). 2. http://localhost:8080/restconf/config/.. . - this URL i am seeing the ODl UI.

What are the difference between these two URL's? how it is different from each other.. or how it is designed? is there any documents to understand these..

Thanks Bala

Thanks Lori..! As you mentioned the integration build contains all features, i guess we can get all the list of features by giving feature:list in the command line after the ODL is launched. and later we can install required features using the feature:install command. is my understanding correct?
