2015-05-19 23:41:48 -0800 answered a question Settingup Opendaylight Controller

steps to download the helium stable branch and compile-

  1. project# sudo apt-get install git

  2. create ODL account from the path mentioned below, if you have not already registered- https://identity.opendaylight.org/carbon/user-registration/user-registration.jsp

  3. execute the below code at terminal where you want to download the code- project# git clone -b stable/helium https://username@git.opendaylight.org/gerrit/controller In this example git will download the Helium stable code.

  4. Now you have the stable helium code. Next you have to verify whether your build procedure going to SUCCESS or not before changing the original code. go to the below mentioned path and execute the command- project/controller/opendaylight/distribution/opendaylight# mvn clean install

  5. At the end you will get "BUILD SUCCESS".

2015-05-15 02:54:20 -0800 answered a question How to run osgi in Helium

If you have successfully make the build then you can start osgi from the below path: controller/opendaylight/distribution/opendaylight/target/distribution.opendaylight-osgipackage/opendaylight# ./run.sh

to make the build you can follow the below steps-

https://ask.opendaylight.org/question/3716/step-by-step-helium-build-procedure/

2015-05-15 02:41:56 -0800 asked a question adding some logs in controller.java is not reflected after build...

Hi, I have added some logs in "public void handleNewConnection(...)" which is located from the file path: "controller/opendaylight/protocolplugins/openflow/src/main/java/org/opendaylight/controller/protocolplugin/openflow/core/internal/Controller.java"

and then compiling from the path: controller/opendaylight/distribution/opendaylight# mvn clean install -D skipTests

Then after successfull build, I started the controller and also created the network using mininet but there is no logs found in "controller/opendaylight/distribution/opendaylight/target/distribution.opendaylight-osgipackage/opendaylight/logs/opendaylight.log"

Is there any wrong way i'm trying to make the build, or what is going wrong here?

2015-05-13 04:55:56 -0800 answered a question how to modify helium's source code?

steps to download the helium stable branch and compile-

  1. project# sudo apt-get install git
  2. create ODL account from the path mentioned below, if you have not already registered- https://identity.opendaylight.org/carbon/user-registration/user-registration.jsp

  3. execute the below code at terminal where you want to download the code- project# git clone -b stable/helium https://username@git.opendaylight.org/gerrit/controller In this example git will download the Helium stable code.

  4. Now you have the stable helium code. Modify the code as per your requirement. I suggest you to first change the logs at initial level to verify the code change. Next you have to verify whether your build procedure going to SUCCESS or not before changing the original code.

  5. go to the below mentioned path and execute the command- project/controller/opendaylight/distribution/opendaylight# mvn clean install

  6. At the end you will get "BUILD SUCCESS".

Hi, I have downloaded the helium release, but unable to make build. I want to make some changes in Statistics Manager and then make build. Is there any step by step build procedure for the helium code?

2015-05-13 02:22:09 -0800 commented answer how to verify the dowloaded controller for release(hydrogen/helium)?

Hi, Thanks for the response. I have downloaded the helium code but i want to verify the helium release from the downloaded code, i.e. Is there any procedure to verify from the downloaded code that this is the helium release?

2015-05-12 23:51:08 -0800 asked a question how to verify the dowloaded controller for release(hydrogen/helium)?

I have pulled the stable helium code from the git by using the below command- git clone -b stable/helium https://irshad###@git.opendaylight.org/gerrit/controller

how to check the version/release from the code, i.e. whether it is helium stable code or hydrogen stable code.
