2015-10-17 07:02:21 -0700 marked best answer How to group flows and delete all flows by its group name?

Hi, I'd like to insert flows and give all the flows a group name. Then, I want to delete all the flows using that group name instead of delete one by one. Is that possible?

thank you in advance,

Marcelo.

2015-10-17 07:02:21 -0700 marked best answer Flow ID, Flow name, Cookie and Cookie mask

Hi guys: Someone can me explain the difference between these attributes in a flow JSON structure?

Flow ID (Is a mandatory attribute and must be unique?)

Flow Name (Is a mandatory attribute and must be unique?)

Cookie (Is an optional attribute and it is not passed to the switch, the principal goal is to group flows? In that case, can I send a DELETE flow command with a cookie value and all the flows with that cookie value will be deleted?

Cookie Mask (Is an optional attribute and lets to subgroup group flows?)

Is that correct?

Thank you in advance, marcelo

2015-07-14 12:19:18 -0700 commented answer Delete Flow HTTP Response 410

Hi jamo: Thanks for your response. I don´t see anything relation to this error in the ODL log file. On the other hand, I´m creating the flow via REST API and the flow inserted is exactly the same the flow I delete. This error ocurrs randomly. I´m using ODL Hydrogen

2015-07-14 09:14:15 -0700 asked a question Delete Flow HTTP Response 410

Hi, When I send an HTTP DELETE FLOW (via REST API) sometimes (not always) I've got an HTTP Response 410 error (the flow is not deleted from the ODL nor the switch). I am sending five of six HTTP DELETE (one after one), can be this the cause of error? Any idea?

thank you in advance, marcelo

Hi, Unfortunatly, I did not manage the controller, I have to ask to the rest of the team. Please wait until tomorrow. By the way, I receive a mail to accept the best answer for this question. What do I have to do? Do you want I accept your answer?, in that case, no problem. just tell me.

jamoluhrsen: Thanks a lot for your answer. I added some images in the question. Some considerations: 1) The port is 8080. 2) If I try to get the nodes list as you ask me: http://10.59.6.252:8080/restconf/operational/opendaylight-inventory:nodes/ The response is: No data exist The rest is in the images I've uploaded. Thanks again, marcelo

2015-04-10 05:45:24 -0700 asked a question Can not Get Group Features & Meter Features Statistics ¿Why?

Hi guys: I access to Opendaylight web portal and see the packets and bytes sent and received from diferent flows in a node.

But, if I try to make an HTTP GET, to get the Group Features & Meter Features Statistics as specify in the wiki i.e.:

GET http://<controller-ip>:8080/restconf/operational/opendaylight-inventory:nodes/node/{node-id}</controller-ip>

I receive the response text: "No data exist"

In my case, the URL would be:

http://10.59.6.252:8080/restconf/operational/opendaylight-inventory:nodes/node/00:00:00:0c:29:70:45:9b

Here is the Node on Opendaylight Portal

image description

As you can see, the Node ID in Opendaylight is: OF|00:00:00:0c:29:70:45:9b

The word OF (Open Flow) is part of the ID node name?

I tried too:

http://10.59.6.252:8080/restconf/operational/opendaylight-inventory:nodes/node/OF|00:00:00:0c:29:70:45:9b

image description

and try,

http://10.59.6.252:8080/restconf/operational/opendaylight-inventory:nodes/node/OF/00:00:00:0c:29:70:45:9b

image description

¿Any idea?

Thank you in advance, Marcelo

2015-04-07 07:39:31 -0700 commented answer Bug? Delete flow via rest API, delete it in ODL but not in the vswitch

Nuno: Thank you for your response. But In our test case, we inserted a set of static flows via REST API (HTTP PUT) and later, we removed all these static flows (we deleted them one by one via REST API HTTP DELETE). The problem is that one of these flows (that was inserted by our application) is removed from ODL but remains in the open virtual switch. It is important to note that the flow that was not removed from de vswitch, correspond to a flow that previusly was inserted by our applicaton. In our case the I2switch module is turn off. The host tracking y ARP handler do not generate flows themselves. Regards, Marcelo

2015-04-06 16:14:55 -0700 asked a question Bug? Delete flow via rest API, delete it in ODL but not in the vswitch

Hi guys; We sent a Delete flow command via REST API and found that the flow was removed from the ODL but it was still present in the open virtual switch,

We can not reproduce the error.

The ODL log file did not show nothing abnormally.

Can be a bug? from the ODL? from the vswitch?

Anyone knows if ODL has a mechanism to ensure or notify when the command sent to it is not executed properly?

Thank you in advance, Marcelo

Hi guys,

Is there any way to insert flows using the REST API into a transactional procedure?

I mean, for example, you have to insert 4 flows, and the fourth insert fails, is there any way to indicate to the ODL to rollback the first three inserts?

thank you in advance,

2015-03-08 21:38:07 -0700 marked best answer REST API DELETE FLOWS

Hi guys: Two days ago I posted a question about how to delete a group of flows using REST API. The answer was: using cookie. An attribute of a JSON structure.

It was great!!!!

But, to delete a flow using the REST API you have to send an HTTP DELETE, there is not payload, you do not use a JSON structure.

So, How I can specify the cookie in a DELETE post?

Thank you in advance, marcelo
