I am using a simple linear topology with 2 switches and two hosts. With these physical switches and hosts, I am getting the wrong topology somehow forming the loops with hosts on YangUI. The hosts at the end somehow get connected to the other switch to form a loop. My Physical connection is like: H1 --- S1---S2---H2 whereas on YangUI this topology forms a loop with extra fake links between other switch and host. S1 H1 . . H2 S2 I'd appreciate some help to find the reason behind this. Thank you 2017-03-27 09:39:16 -0700 commented answer HP switch and ODL Beryllium Are there any other settings you had to do from host side? I guess you were using beryllium version? 2017-03-27 09:21:01 -0700 asked a question NO Host from physical switch topology in ODL- beryllium and Boron Hi, I am new in this field and have started ODL a few days ago. I am using physical switches from Mellanox with OpenFlow 1.3 and cannot see the host. I can see only the switches, links and even OpenFlow-enabled ports in the switch. I found that the switches from other vendors had the similar problem. I have tried their solutions but none of them works for me. Is there something obvious I am missing? I have been trying almost everything, like installing just odl-l2switch-switch-ui and odl-dlux-all. Now I am using the basic features like odl-restconf, odl-l2switch-switch, odl-mdsal-apidocs, odl-dlux-all I have tried installing flows to the switches OFPSTFLOW reply (OF1.3) (xid=0x2): cookie=0x2b00000000000000, duration=1431.040s, table=0, npackets=90854902428, nbytes=10738013799600, priority=100,dltype=0x88cc actions=CONTROLLER:65535 cookie=0x2b00000000000002, duration=1431.038s, table=0, npackets=0, nbytes=0, priority=0 actions=drop cookie=0xa, duration=277.157s, table=0, npackets=4894174162, nbytes=313236085414, priority=100 actions=NORMAL cookie=0x2b00000000000020, duration=1424.988s, table=0, npackets=0, nbytes=0, priority=2,inport=69 actions=output:93,output:81,output:73,output:85,output:77,output:65,output:89,CONTROLLER:65535 cookie=0x2b00000000000021, duration=1424.985s, table=0, npackets=695937755, nbytes=63927444574, priority=2,inport=93 Couldn't see any obvious error in karaf.log except while installing feature:l2switch-switch RevisionSourceIdentifier [name=openflow-plugin-provider-impl@2015-03-27]] org.apache.aries.proxy.UnableToProxyException: java.lang.ClassFormatError: Duplicate interface name in class file Proxyc2f995054097420eb9db015ba7e3d68a Do, I need to configure hosts for ODL controller? Any specific feature or feature order? plugin? I don't understand why is this a problem only with physical switches? help please! waiting for reply! TIA 2017-03-27 05:48:02 -0700 answered a question no host topology(hardware switch) Which Version of Opendaylight are you using? I am facing the exactly same problem with my hardware switch. May I know how did you fix this? I can add flow entries and they can ping each other as well. But cannot see the host node at all. Please reply if anybody knows the solution. Also, are you using Openflow 1.3 compatible switches? Unfortunately, this method is not working for me :( You see those rules from the switch openflow flows ? I couldn't see hosts from GUI yet. Please help, Thanks. 2017-03-14 01:47:07 -0700 answered a question network-topology not show all information I am facing the same issue with my physical network. Is this related to the physical network? Also, I am unable to see the host information. Did you find any solution?
