2017-04-05 06:41:50 -0700 asked a question How long does it take for an added flow to get put in the operational data store?

When adding flows to a switch, lets say openflow:1, how long will it take for that flow to become visible/available in the operational datastore?

It is put into the config datastore initially by the user. Then ODL pushes the flow to the switch and from there it should be passed to the operational datastore (if the flow is valid and accepted). But how long does this process take?

Any info would be appreciated!

2017-04-05 06:10:52 -0700 answered a question Flow not being put in Operational datastore

I have this working now.

The error was that the in port that I was specifying did not exist in the switch and therefore the flow was rejected. After changing 'openflow:1' to 'openflow:1:1', the flow was pushed to the switch and later to the operational datastore.

I would advise to be careful when creating flows as a typo like this can make you search for an error and solution for a long time!

I have been able to make a flow and it was added to the operational datastore now, I think I had previously specified a now existent port causing ODL the switch to reject the flow.

2017-03-28 08:33:16 -0700 asked a question DLUX heading change

How can I change the text in the heading of the DLUX app. For example, in the topology page it has 'TOPOLOGY'. How can I make one for my own app?

Thanks :)

I once had a similar problem, mine was to do with the DLUX loader..... I solved the issue by changing the archetype version ( I assume there was an issue with the original one I was using). I hope this helps some bit EDIT: I was following the dlux app guide and used archetypes to start the project

2017-03-26 12:17:08 -0700 asked a question How to access a flow by ID (via URL)

How can I access a specific flow in a switch's table?

http://xx.xx.xx.xx:8181/restconf/oper... shows a list of the flows in the table, for example #UF$TABLE0-120*. When I add this to the URL however, it doesn't work....

How can I get the ID that will work for that flow so I can use it to access its information via REST?

2017-03-11 10:04:48 -0700 commented answer Flow not being put in Operational datastore

Are you sure you are doing GET on the operational datastore? When I PUT the flow I can GET it from the config datastore too but not the operational so I'd say check that you are getting the right one :)

2017-03-05 13:16:17 -0700 asked a question Flow not being put in Operational datastore

I have PUT a simple flow into the config datastore via POSTMAN (Chrome app). The operation returns a STATUS 200 OK.

When I run ovs-ofctl dump-flows h1 -O OpenFlow13 in mininet I can see the flow in the table, however the flow is not in the Operational datastore.

From my understanding, the flow is PUT into the MD-SAL's config data store and then ODL pushes it southbound to the switch (or so it should). Then when the flow is in the switch, it should be in the operational datastore since it reflects the runtime of the network..

Any help would be appreciated! If I have misunderstood something please do say :)

2017-03-05 08:21:28 -0700 asked a question Is it possible to trace a packet through the network from one host to another?

Say you have a topology with multiple hosts and switches. Is it possible to trace the switches a packet goes through while going from h1 to h2?

I have finally resolved the issue. I was using the values that the guide suggested for groupID etc. When I did so, i was getting a 'Missing constraint: Import-Package' error for the dlux loader.

What fixed it for me was to use the following:

Define value for property 'groupId': : org.opendaylight.dlux
Define value for property 'artifactId': : your app name here
Define value for property 'version': 1.0-SNAPSHOT: : 0.3.4-Beryllium-SR4
Define value for property 'package': org.opendaylight.dlux.example: : blank

Hope this might help someone who was having a similar issue :)

2017-01-16 09:40:57 -0700 asked a question How can I create an application in DLUX?

So I have been trying to create an application in DLUX with no success. I have followed various guides but always get stuck at some point, the main one being when I try to deploy! When I try to start my bundle it always gives a "missing constraint" error saying Import package org.opendaylight.dlux.loader is missing ...

If anyone has made an application for dlux before could you please help me out? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, Kevin

I have been trying to create a DLUX app using the archetype. I am following the guide available here.

I have installed the Beryllium SR4 release of ODL and have had no problems with the guide up to the deployment of the app. I have put the .jar file into the deploy folder. When I do bundle:list, it is saying that the bundle is installed (as it is in the deploy folder), but it is not active. It is when I try bundle:start exampleApp-bundle that I get the error in the question....

Any help on this would be much appreciated!!

Thanks in advance,

Kevin
