2016-11-13 10:36:50 -0700 asked a question modifying ip-dest address of a packet

Hi,

What action is to be put using instance identifier (not rest API) into the switches in the network inorder to modify the ip header (ip-dest) of an incoming packet to the switch. Particularly it is required to convert multicast address to unicast in the use case that I am working on. Any answer would be of great help.

Thank you

2016-11-12 12:44:04 -0700 asked a question Server and client simulation

Hi,

I am running a server and a client in a mininet topology, where I am trying to insert various flows to the config data store of the ODL controller including tcp matches as given in https://wiki.opendaylight.org/view/Ed...OpenDaylightOpenFlowPlugin:EndtoEndFlows:Example_Flows, but when I run the client, no flows are transferred to switch from config data store. It is helpful if you could tell what flows are to be put to the config data store of ODL to get the server and client working in mininet.

Thank you

2016-11-12 04:13:35 -0700 asked a question Handling Packet in messages in ODL

Hi,

Which module in openflowplugin is responsible for handling packet in messages and moving the flows from config data store to switches if they are not present in the switches. How can we handle packetin messages in our own module and send both packetout and flow_mod to switches with specific actions.

Thank you.

2016-08-28 10:38:37 -0700 asked a question Which module in Openflow plugin is responsible for getting switch information and putting flows to the switches

Hi all,

For my project I am in need to know and change the way switch or network information is obtained by the Openflow plugin project and which is the module in the project that is responsible for inserting flows from configurational data store to the switches. If some one can provide the necessary information and the links for the corresponding source files that would be of great help.

2016-08-25 07:30:05 -0700 commented question How to get link information with different latencies set for the links in mininet.

@bhavesh07 , the implementation should be done as part of the openflow plugin project right, can you be more specific of what files are to be edited or how a new project for this is to be done, how to access switch info in my project and take information as per my requirement.

2016-08-21 00:08:47 -0700 asked a question How to get link information with different latencies set for the links in mininet.

Hi all, When we get the links present in operational data store using topology instance identifier, the link has src node and dest node , src tp and dst tp but if we simulate a mininet topology of links having different bandwidth or latencies for each links, then is it possible to get that information into our application using topology instance identifier and getLinks function from the obtained topology or something else is to be done. The md sal link definition used by default is as per given in https://github.com/opendaylight/mdsal... .

Any help would be of great help. Thank you,

2016-07-07 06:26:42 -0700 commented answer Given the ip address of a host as a string input to the ODL module how to get the node Id and ethernet address

Hi Karthik, the module says HostNode class unavailabe even after adding import org.opendaylight.yang.gen.v1.urn.opendaylight.host.tracker.rev140624.HostNode; should there be any changes made to the pom.xml and the dependencies because HostNode is a cleass from the host trackeer project.

2016-07-07 04:27:04 -0700 asked a question When does the flow data from the config data store go to the operational data store

I am able to put flow to the config data store but the flow is not getting into the operational data store even if there is only one flow in the switches which says them to send any flow coming to the switches to the controller , now I am pinging but it does not work, what I expect is that the flows from the config data store go to the operational data store and the ping works. Any help with this would be great.

Thank you, Nithin

2016-07-07 03:56:40 -0700 asked a question Given the ip address of a host as a string input to the ODL module how to get the node Id and ethernet address

I am trying to develop a shortestpath module and it works and is able to find the shortest path and insert flows in the switches if the node Id of the source and sink node are given as (host:00:00:00:00:00:01) etc. but what I actually want to do is give the ip address of the hosts as input and map them to NodeId and also ethernet address because the shortestpath finder module requires the node Id as the input, so if there is any rpc or module that could do the mapping and if anyone could throw some light on it that would be helpful.

Thank you, Nithin

2016-06-22 04:27:55 -0700 asked a question Unable to push configuration due to missing yang models

I am trying to develop a multicast module in ODL and for which I am trying to add some classes to the tapapp application in the http://sdnhub.org/tutorials/opendayli... but in the karaf log I am getting the error (run time) as attached while the build is successful .

Just adding some new imports or a new class or file to already built application gives this error .

Any help would be really great .

Hi , I wanted to know if there is any restapi or plugin that can be used to get the links stored in operational data store in MDsal , I am able to retrieve the nodes using http://localhost:8181/restconf/operat... but not the links , if I use http://localhost:8181/restconf/operat... it asks for link key and it would help if there is some documentation relating to link key format (like for ex. for node it is openflow:1), Any help in this regard would be really great as I am working on a multicast module in opendaylight .

Thank you , Nithin

2016-06-19 06:50:20 -0700 asked a question How to get the links and nodes from Md sal

I am following the link http://sdntutorials.com/how-to-look-u... but not able to understand if onSessionInitiated should be called explicitly or not . Clearly apeaking I have made a class as given in the above link in a package and able to create its instance in a different class in the same package , but now nothing is happening , no nodes or links of mininet are displayed , so I have dowbt on how onSessionInitiated works and what is providercontext class and is there a simple way to get or call the function getsalservice();
