Neutron icehouse and Opendaylight

Hi, I am using Neutron icehouse on ubuntu 14 LTS (non-devstack). I was able able to use ml2_odl plugin and can create network from the neutron using opendaylight (although, cannot see subnets/ports in GUI) on visible in the REST API call . However, once a network is created neutron does not seems to delete it from opendaylight. It keeps showing up in /controller/nb/v2/neutron/networks.

Also what other neutron agents are not required with opendaylighti.e. do I need dhcp agent or l3?

this is how my network is setup: 1. OpendaylightVM (service provider version) <running controller="" node="" on="" openstack=""> 2. OVS running on controller node and compute node. 3. Controller and Compute node are connected through Openflow switch( OF 1.0) (dhcp and other services). 4. Open daylight is controller for both OVS and physical switch.</running>

am trying to integrate icehouse with ODL. Could you share me the guidelines to make the setup?

chandralekha - I recommend starting with this. http://www.siliconloons.com/getting-started-with-opendaylight-and-openstack/

Hi I am researching on integration of OpenStack and ODL. I am presenting a seminar and your contribution would be a great help for me.

If i have physical switches from different vendors in my environment and I have ML2 mechanism drivers for those switches. Suppose these physical switches support OpenFlow. By Introducing ODL into my infrastructure, can i remove the mechanism drivers for these switches.

Does we need the drivers for physical switches to work with ODL. Does ODL has capability to create ports on physical switches and attaching them to network ports on hypervisors.

ramvalleru, this is not an answer to his question. My recommendation if you would like a proper answer, is to delete this message, and re-post it as a new question on the main page. I and others will be more than happy to help you there.

Hi

I have partially achieved integration of ODL with OpenStack. neutron-plugin-openvswitch wont be needed on compute and control host.

I have 1 question though. How to confirm that the integration is successful? I have been following this wiki: https://wiki.opendaylight.org/view/OpenStackandOpenDaylight

When you try spinning a VM a tunnal will be created between the neutron node and compute node and through this you could see the dhcp pkt of Virtual instance.
