Hello community,

I would like to ask couple of question regarding OpenFlow 1.3 (OF1.3) support in Open Daylight controller. Could you please help me to find the answers?

Is it possible to work with OF1.3 devices from Open Daylight? I found some materials about OF1.3 support (for example here http://events.linuxfoundation.org/sites/events/files/slides/os2014-md-sal-tutorial_0.pdf ) and looks like it is enough to add -of13 key to run.sh script. But it is not working for me. I cloned open Daylight from github ( https://github.com/opendaylight/controller ) and got "Unknown option -of13" error.

I tried to test Open Daylight with mininet (sudo mn --topo single,2 --mac --switch ovsk,protocols=OpenFlow13 --controller remote). Unfortunately a got a lot of INFO messages and all switches lost connection to the controller.

This question very crucial for our team, because we want to use some OF1.3 features in our app like meter tables.

Just to inform you we found a OF1.3 plugin for Open Daylight from sdnhub team. It provides AD-SAL, but as far as we understand there is no API for meter tables (Please correct me if I am wrong).

Thanks in advance, Pavel.

Hi Pavel,

So the base controller comes with only OpenFlow 1.0, there is another project called OpenFlowPlugin that is need to be built to support OpenFlow1.3. Please see wiki page https://wiki.opendaylight.org/view/OpenDaylightOpenFlowPlugin::Build_Instructions for instructions.

Thanks Chris

Hi Pavel,

have you already tried the precompliled distribution?

For me, it was just unzipping and then call: ./run.sh -of13

Regards, Mario
