Hi,

I have downloaded the latest ODL code from git clone https://git.opendaylight.org/gerrit/p/controller.git. And compiled the code and tried to run with -of13 plugin, but its throwing error also there is no option for of13 in run.bat/run.sh.

     C:\Projects\controller\opendaylight\distribution\opendaylight\target\distribution.opendaylight-osgipackage\opendaylight>run.bat -of13
      "Unknown option: -of13"

Please let me know whether I have downloaded from correct url? Or please tell me the correct url to download?

Thanks, rmohamed

Hi,

So the base controller comes with only OpenFlow 1.0, there is another project called OpenFlowPlugin that is need to be built to support OpenFlow1.3. Please see wiki page https://wiki.opendaylight.org/view/OpenDaylightOpenFlowPlugin::Build_Instructions for instructions.

Thanks Chris

-XX:MaxPermSize=512m try adding that.

I tried with this option, run.bat -Xmx1024m -XX:MaxPermSize=512m , its throwing error as "Unknown option: 512m". Even i tired with multiple option , it didn't work for me.

Using Windows i'm not sure on how. The error you ran into means you need to increase the perm size of the JVM in windows.

Which edition of the controller are you running? This error is the Java heap (you've limited it to 1024MB) run out not PermGen. Most of the testing done when running the controller is with a 2G heap size (-Xmx2g)

For this Error : java.lang.OutOfMemoryError thrown from the UncaughtExceptionHandler in thread “main”

Following solved my problem :

I set the following on the System Environment variable of Windows 8.0 e.g. JAVATOOLOPTIONS to -Xmx2048m -XX:MaxPermSize=512m -Xms512m

To verify it do :

C:\windows\system32>java -version Picked up JAVATOOLOPTIONS: -Xmx2048m -XX:MaxPermSize=512m -Xms512m java version "1.7.071" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.071-b14) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 24.71-b01, mixed mode)

C:\windows\system32>
