Where is the message log for s/b netconf?

I'm trying to debug a problem integrating the netconf s/b adapter with a Juniper device.

Environment is Lithium SR-1 on ubuntu 14.04

I can see that the adapter and device are communicating, but the device is not liking the message it's receiving. Is there a means of logging the netconf messages from/to the netconf adapter to assist in debug and how is this enabled?


btw - the error I'm seeing looks like the following if anyone recognises it:
