Is there a way to disable flow stats request (Multipart msg) from being generated periodically?

I have seen that as soon as the flows are installed on the SDN switch by the Open Day Light Controller, it starts generating a Multipart Flow stats request (with all wild card) periodically? Is there a way to disable it (or increase the duration between requests) ?

My question is specific to Helium/Lithium releases.

You can mask the messages. From the karaf console: log:set INFO org.opendaylight.... The ... is the full path to the class shown in the stats messages. Use a lower level than what the offending messages are at. If they are at INFO then use WARN or ERROR.

For Lithium design there is exposed rpc.

send POST to following url in order to get current statistics manager state: http://localhost:8080/restconf/operat...

send POST to following url in order to set new statistics manager state: http://localhost:8080/restconf/operat...

with this content:

<input xmlns="urn:opendaylight:params:xml:ns:yang:openflowplugin:sm:control">
    <mode>COLLECT_ALL</mode>
</input>

or

<input xmlns="urn:opendaylight:params:xml:ns:yang:openflowplugin:sm:control">
    <mode>FULLY_DISABLED</mode>
</input>

For Helium design I guess that the easiest way on how to disable statistics collecting is to remove statistics-manager jar file from karaf.
