Hello Everyone

After trying several times and performing more than 5 complete OS and ODL new installations, I continue with the same problem; following these instructions: https://wiki.opendaylight.org/view/InstallOnUbuntu14.04 , and setting JAVAHOME on ~/.bashrc

export M2_HOME=/usr/local/apache-maven/apache-maven-3.3.3

export MAVEN_OPTS="-Xms256m -Xmx512m"

export JAVA_HOME=/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.7.0-openjdk-amd64

I installed feature:install odl-l2switch-switch - open browser with http://odlip:8181/index.html - but I still can't get the browser to open ODL Web Interface, it hangs for ever without reaching it.

I have also followed straight installation instructions from https://www.opendaylight.org/installing-opendaylight with the same exact results. Please, any suggestions? I will truly appreciate it.

Dell Server with Ubuntu Server 14.04.2 - Direct System Installation - NO VM's.

Hello Everyone Thanks to all of you for your prompt assistance, I appreciate it. Prior to submitting this request for help, I already when through all these suggestions and I did not resolved the issue, but I did found a similar case on this forum that did provided me with the needed resolution. Please, see link below: https://ask.opendaylight.org/question/5157/opendaylight-lithium-first-install/#5165 The fundamental issue is related to have Tomcat Java-Apache2 Server Module enabled in Ubuntu 14.04 from initial OS Installation; it will set Java Environment to listen to port 8080 and it will create a conflict with por 8181 which is used by ODL Web Java Interface. I believe that will be really helpful to make emphasis on this on any Ubuntu tutorial installation; it will save us from tons of frustration and loss of time during the first installation for novices like me.
