If you are trying to bring in your local (maybe modified) OVSDB and L2switch projects in to the full controller distribution you can do this:

  1. clone, modify if needed, and build the OVSDB and L2Switch projects
  2. clone and build the integration project.

1 will keep the build artifacts locally, so that when you build the entire distribution (#2) it will first look for

build artifacts locally, then if not local it will pull from nexus upstream.

If you require Stable/Helium for all of this, then make sure you are checking out stable/helium branches after you clone the repositories.
