I'm having issues getting RESTCONF to call a NETCONF RPC.

The URL I post to is something like:

http://localhost:8080/restconf/operations/opendaylight-inventory:nodes/node/freenetconfd/yang-ext:mount/foo:bar

(where freenetconfd is a mounted NETCONF server, foo is a yang module, and bar is the RPC).

But the response I get is:

"Identifier opendaylight-inventory:nodes/node/freenetconfd/yang-ext:mount/foo:bar can't contain slash character (/). If slash is part of identifier name then use %2F placeholder."

But of course in this instance the slashes aren't part of the identifier name but rather the path to the module.

Anyone able to help?

The support for RPC calls to remote netconf devices via RESTConf came in via : https://bugs.opendaylight.org/show_bug.cgi?id=953 & Gerrit : https://git.opendaylight.org/gerrit/#/c/6815/15 . Is it possible that you are trying an opendaylight binary that is prior to the above Gerrit ?

Please refer to : https://wiki.opendaylight.org/view/OpenDaylight_Controller:Config:Examples:Netconf for more info.
