Hi guys,

I have installed ODL Helium and it is connected to Mininet. When I look at the controller statistics at page : http://localhost:8181/restconf/operational/opendaylight-inventory:nodes/node/openflow:1/node-connector/openflow:1:1

and I was surprised to see that there are bytes/packets transmitted and received even if I don't inject traffic in the network. What do these packets represent ? Is the controller exchanging control packets with the OF nodes ?

Regards, Luca

Controller will send LLDP packets to discover the topology. You can use any network monitoring tool to capture the packets and verify them.
