Hi all

I wanted to add meter to ovs but came to know that it is not supported in ovs switch and supported in CPqD switch. I am using Helium SR1. I have cloned git ofsoftswitch13 repository in Mininet.

I am starting it with

sudo mn --controller=remote,ip=<ip>,port=6653 --topo single,2 --switch user,protocols=OpenFlow13

The topology was created and can be seen in Dlux. However, the hosts can't ping each other. What is the reason and the possible solution?

There can be many reasons why they're not pinging. You can see topology so means cpqd is connected to controller. What are the features you've installed? When you say can't ping, does ARP get resoled or not? I think you will need l2switch installed for arp and ping to go through.

Another good data point would be to look at the flows installed on the switches "ovs-ofctl dump-flows ..."

checked flows, ports were tagged with vlan and hence couldnot ping. I added a meter to restrict bandwidth and attached a flow to it with postman. dpctl meter-config shows flow received

sh dpctl tcp: meter-config

stat_req{type="mconf", flags="0x0"{meter_id= ffffffff"}

stat_repl{type="mconf", flags="0x0", stats=[{meter= 1"", flags="1", bands=[{type = drop, rate="50000", burst_size="0"}]}]}

But the flow is not seen in stats-flow command. Yesterday it was shown in stats-flow command.
