Ask Your Question

Which is actual "l2switch"? Is it controller.git/opendaylight/md-sal/samples/l2switch? OR l2switch.git?

The design mentioned here [] is in-line with controller/opendaylight/md-sal/samples/l2switch which is obtained when checking out "controller.git". But there is also a separate project called "l2switch" which is obtained while checking out "l2switch.git".

Which is the actual l2switch "in effect" in ODL?

Hi Bakshi Gulam ,

According to my knowledge, l2switch was used to be in controller too as sample in Helium release and before that. Mean in Helium release controller you can install and use l2switch. But if you see in master branch of controller now l2switch is not a part of controller inside sample anymore and they have separated it at "l2switch.git". So in Lithium release l2switch will not a part of Controller any more.

"l2switch.git" is found in Helium Release too. In case of Helium, why have same project in two places? And the one inside controller/.../samples/l2switch is different from "l2switch.git". Which is actual "l2switch" in effect in Helium?

In Helium release it was part of sample in controller which was taken out as separate and release it as l2switch helium. Now in master branch controller you will not find l2switch in sample anymore. So if you use stable helium release source code,l2switch is included but not in case code frm master
