Hi, Can you help me with the null pointer exception that I get while logging into the controller gui ? I do the following:

  1. Installed the latest pre-built opendaylight controller distribution from the following link: https://jenkins.opendaylight.org/releng/view/controller/job/controller-daily-stable-helium/85/org.opendaylight.controller$distribution.opendaylight/

  2. Started the controller through opendaylight/run.sh script. The server starts with many exceptions in the back ground. I wait for few minutes and then open the browser and access http://localhost:8080/ , the login page opens fine.

  3. But when I login with admin/admin, I get the following null pointer exception on the webpage: java.lang.NullPointerException org.opendaylight.controller.usermanager.internal.UserManager.authenticate(UserManager.java:321) org.opendaylight.controller.security.ControllerCustomRealm.authenticate(ControllerCustomRealm.java:67) org.apache.catalina.authenticator.FormAuthenticator.authenticate(FormAuthenticator.java:294) org.apache.catalina.authenticator.AuthenticatorBase.invoke(AuthenticatorBase.java:449) org.apache.catalina.valves.ErrorReportValve.invoke(ErrorReportValve.java:98) org.opendaylight.controller.filtervalve.cors.FilterValve$1.doFilter(FilterValve.java:53) org.opendaylight.controller.filtervalve.cors.model.FilterProcessor.process(FilterProcessor.java:69) org.opendaylight.controller.filtervalve.cors.FilterValve.invoke(FilterValve.java:56) org.apache.catalina.valves.AccessLogValve.invoke(AccessLogValve.java:950) org.apache.catalina.authenticator.SingleSignOn.invoke(SingleSignOn.java:312) org.apache.catalina.connector.CoyoteAdapter.service(CoyoteAdapter.java:408) org.apache.coyote.http11.AbstractHttp11Processor.process(AbstractHttp11Processor.java:1040) org.apache.coyote.AbstractProtocol$AbstractConnectionHandler.process(AbstractProtocol.java:607) org.apache.tomcat.util.net.JIoEndpoint$SocketProcessor.run(JIoEndpoint.java:315) java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor.runWorker(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:1121) java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:614) java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:780)

I don't believe anyone is supporting the GUI in the controller project most of the development work for the GUI has been done in the DLUX project. I hurry recommend just getting the latest build from integration that will have all the project brought in.
