So I'm trying to add a simple flow following link from ODL wiki. I'm sending the request using postman and the answer I receive is Status 200 OK. The request im sending is the first under the section "Push your flow" on the link.

However when i go to mininet to check the flow the table is still empty and if i use the following command (sh ovs-ofctl dump-flows s1) it gives me the error "version negotiation failed (we support version 0x04, peer supports version 0x01) ovs-ofctl: s1: failed to connect to socket (Broken pipe)".

I'm using Helium SR2, i have odl-restconf odl-openflowplugin-flow-services-ui odl-dlux-core odl-mdsal-apidocs modules installed.

The command that i run in the mininet is the following: 'sudo mn --controller=remote,ip=,port=6653 --topo=tree,2 --switch=ovsk,protocols=OpenFlow13 --mac'

Am I doing anything wrong, why the request is OK and the flow isn't installed ? How can I debug it ?

Thanks in advance.

The error is because OVS is running in OpenFlow13 and you're quering for flows in 1.0 format. Try this:

ovs-ofctl dump-flows s1 -OOpenFlow13

One reason for original problem could be that controller is not running in 1.3 mode, which could be confirmed from errors in log [can't recall exactly what entries].

Run ovs-vsctl showto check if it shows OVS bridge connected to controller or not. If it doesn't show it to be connected, then it is definitely a case of controller not running in OF1.3 mode. To run controller in 1.3 mode, in your etc/ uncomment ovsdb.of.version=1.3

Hope this helps.
