In the MD-SAL topology manager it is not possible to identify the ports that the hosts are connected to. The links do not appear to be there. How do you find the link to the host?

Hi, The topology manager does not show hosts connected to switches. I heard something today about MD-SAL being "layer 2" tech and not showing the hosts by default. I know the AD-SAL had a host tracker for finding the hosts as well. I was just wondering the best mechanism to resolve hosts in the topology manager so you know which hosts are attached to which switches if you don't yet have IP addresses assigned to the hosts and you haven't done any pings. Is it possible for the topology manager to 'find' attached host.... by mac address for instance.
