Hi all,

(I am a noob on opendaylight) I have a few questions to ask

  1. Recently I have tried to connect my HP E3500 switch with one host to my opendaylight Helium controller. I am able to see my switch but I am not able to see a the host.

  2. I tried to access flow UI however when I click add flow No node can be found in the drop down list.

Please help!

The Host tracking is within the L2switch feature. please run feature:install odl-l2switch-switch

If you don't want to run the full L2switch feature you may try just install the host tracking feature feature:install odl-l2switch-hosttracker I haven't try to see if this feature works on it own.

If this doesn't work try manually installing a rule that sends all packet or just the ARP packets to the controller.

After installing odl-l2switch-switch I still could not see the host. How do you manually install a rule?

Hi Chris sorry for the late reply. Many Thanks for your help! However, after accessing "http://192.168.88.41:8181/restconf/config/opendaylight-inventory:nodes/node/openflow:1/table/0/flow/1" I receive this message "application data-missing Request could not be completed because the relevant data model content does not exist."

the URL part of "openflow:1" is cause the device had OpenFlow ID of 1, you need to find what the ID is for your node. try http://192.168.88.41:8181/restconf/config/opendaylight-inventory:nodes/ and see if u can break it down to the node.

The feature alone seems to work. However u have to try to ping something on the network so it can appear on the xml file when u try http://localhost:8080/restconf/operational/network-topology:network-topology/topology/flow:1/ Is this suppose to happend Chris ?
