Reverse TCP Connection in Northbound Netconf Server

Hey guys,

I have a question regarding the Northbound Netconf Server in ODL. I wanted to reverse the connection on the TCP layer, so that the server actually makes a connection request (instead of listening for an incoming connection). For testing purposes I already extended the ncclient (not published yet) for this functionality. To be honest I'm a bit overwhelmed by the sheer amount of features and packages ODL has.

Can someone give me any pointers, where such an implementation could be integrated? Or how I could start? I already checked https://github.com/opendaylight/netco... and think that netconf-ssh would be my first guess.

I'm aware that the SSH-Session is established using Mina-SSHD. So is it enough, if I simply add the functionality in the library?

Thanks in advance for every information.

Hello,

There is some support for this scenario described in https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-iet... but it is not yet available in OpenDaylight.

If you want to implement the draft in OpenDaylight, I strongly suggest attending the kernel weekly meeting of OpenDaylight to discuss this matter.

Hope this helps, Alexis

Thanks for your answer Alexis. Yeah, I wanted to implement this particular draft in ODL. I've already implemented it now, but still need to do a lot of testing. After it's finished, I'll share my solution for anyone who is interested. Thanks for your help Alexis.
