no host topology(hardware switch)

I used the hardware switch (cisco nexus 3172TQ) connected to Opendaylight.

While configured everything, the ODL topology just shows the switch, not the 2 hosts(physical host) connected to the switch.

At first, the "ping" between the 2 hosts don't work, but after I added 2 flow entries to the switch, it did can ping each other, but the controller still cannot see the host node.

I used Wireshark to analyze the packets. I found there is PACKETIN(ARP packet) sent to the controller, but there is no PACKETOUT packet corresponding to the PACKET_IN.

When I use the mininet to do experiments(on the same controller), it works well. The topology is complete and the ping is OK.

Waiting for help.

Which Version of Opendaylight are you using? I am facing the exactly same problem with my hardware switch.

May I know how did you fix this?

I can add flow entries and they can ping each other as well. But cannot see the host node at all.

Please reply if anybody knows the solution.
