I'm trying to configure OpenDaylight to initiate an OpenFlow connection to a listening switch. I can get it to work the other way around, the switch initiating the connection to the controller, but would like the switch to be passive. For instance openVSwitch allows you to have a switch listen for incoming connections using 'ovs-vsctl set-controller vSwitch01 ptcp:6588'. But once I do this I can't figure out how to tell ODL to connect to it. This does not seem to be documented anywhere. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Are you using OVS or a non OVS device?

For OVS, you can refer the postman collection. Refer section 'Create OVS Bridge on Hypervisor'
