Getting this error if I modify any code in L2 switch "Failed to execute goal org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-checkstyle-plugin:2.16:check (default) on project main-impl: You have 6 Checkstyle violations."

But if I do -Dcheckstyle.skip=true the project is compiling without any errors but the modified code does not gets executed. I found this out by debugging the code in eclipse. The newly written lines of code are skipped.

Hi ,

According to my knowledge , if you skip checkstyle , It will skip the checkstyle coding standards .And I believe It will not skip the code which you modified. plz check whether you instantiated your newly created class or not.

If you still face problem, plz mention further details .

Hi thanks for replying... I forgot to compile (mvn install) the distribution after modifying the code. I have only been compiling the L2switch after modification. It works now.. thanks again

I hope you are modifying the lines in master.

L2switch Master fails on check style violation --> which means the indendation , unused imports, extra spacing matters during compilation phase.

Please check the 6 checkstyle violations and rectify it. Happy to help you if you would like to paste the errors here.

Hope it helps.
