input a mac in opendaylight

hey all

i want to write a programm which will take an input of a mac address and then will search if this mac exists in opendaylight inventory.I want to ask if there is any easy way to give an input to opendaylight without write a yang.

I think without Yang you cannot fetch details from MD-SAL data store (Operational/config). In your case ,If you dont want to write any yang , but you need to check the mac , the option which i guess is "Get the topology details from the controller using restonf" and you can easily check the mac with the topology whether it is existing or not .

yes, unless you need something internal (e.g., java app) you can write an external app polling restconf operational and searching the response for your mac address. There are even ways to register a listener externally and receive notifications if you don't want to poll
