How to View All Devices Connected to Switch with RESTCONF

asked 2016-01-13 20:57:30 -0700

anonymous user

I'm trying to find a way to view all devices that are plugged into my switches. Using get operational inventory and topology, it only shows the mac addresses of the ports on my switches.

What is the best way using RESTCONF to find the Mac or IP of devices connected? Such as desktops etc.

I'm using postman for testing and finding this information

Thank you very much!

I'm not sure how to do this with RESTCONF, but the following method gives a JSON representation of the network topology with mac addresses:

curl -u admin:admin http://{controller-host}:8080/controller/nb/v2/topology/default

When you go to DLUX you should see all your hosts as "Laptop" icons connected to your switches. If you don't, try to ping all the hosts from one of the hosts: image description

Yes, but can I see these devices through RESTCONF instead of having to go to the UI manually? I would like to create a simple program that can list the connected devices and check to see if new devices connect.
