Hi, My questions are very green, my apologies in advance.

I have a small test MPLS network built with Cisco IOS-XRv (the limited free download). My IGP is OSPF-TE

I now want to hook this up to the opendaylight controller, not sure how yet. But this is not my main question. My main question is, what happens to the populated tables resulting from the IGP. Is this information passed to the ODL controller so the controller can build a network topology from it.

I ultimately want to experiment with multiple AS.

Thanks Angus

OpenDaylight does not implement an IGP protocol, but can learn the IGP topology via BGP/LS. To take advantage of that, you need to configure one of your XRs to be a BGP speaker and to perform the IGP->BGP/LS translation (sorry, don't have the configs readily available). You then tell ODL to connect to it, the steps are detailed in the BGPCEP User Guide. The data should then be visible in RESTCONF (as example-linkstate-topology, if I remember correctly).

Thank you Robert for that clarity. I am working through the BGPPCEP user guide. Just some clarity. In step 1 of the guide. "<local-as>64496</local-as> // Our AS number, we use this in best path selection" "<bgp-id></bgp-id> // Our BGP identifier, we use this in best path selection" What is the BGP identifier? Would the AS be the AS of the BGP speaker? Thanks Angus

BGP identifier is your local BGP peer address, the one that connects to BGP speaker. AS is the AS where ODL is running.

Hi, I am trying to build a similar setup, with the ODL controller as a PCE server. My interconnecting router does not support BGP-LS. Is there any other way to configure topology information in ODL, e.g. maybe some static configuration options? Thanks, Alex
