I had this exact error on Ubuntu 14.

Run

sudo netstat -ap | grep 6633

or

sudo fuser 6633/tcp

or

sudo lsof -i :6633

This will tell you the process that already binds to 6633. You can then kill that process with kill <process-id>. Make sure you use "sudo" because otherwise you may not need the PID.

I had this exact error on Ubuntu 14.

Run

14.04. sudo netstat -ap | grep 6633

orIf you see this error, kill your karaf service. Then execute:

sudo fuser 6633/tcp
service openvswitch-switch stop

orThen start your karaf service. Give it enough time to start all the modules. You will not see that error.

Then, with OpenDaylight running (either background the process or open another shell) execute

sudo lsof -i :6633
service openvswitch-switch start

This will tell Now you the process that already binds to 6633. can use ovs. You can then kill that process with kill <process-id>. Make sure you use "sudo" because otherwise you may not need the PID.mininet, for example, to create virtual ovsk switches.
